How To Care for your Silicone Baby.
When you think of a “silicone baby”, think “real baby”. So basically, how you would care and handle a human baby, is the same. Firm support with the utmost care.
When you pick up your Silicone baby, slide one hand under the neck to support the head and the other hand slide under the body, then cradle in your arms like a real baby. The silicones from me, are super soft and wobbly. If you put too much stain on the neck area, by not supporting, the neck will eventually weaken and the head will come away. Shocking at the least. Fixable, but costly.
Don’t pick baby up by the arms, same again, over time, this will weaken the arms and tears will eventuate under the arm pits. Shocking at the lest! Fixable, but costly.
Silicone is susceptible to temperature, too hot or too cold, and it is not just felt when you touch the baby, but is damaging to the silicone over time. Especially do not leave in a hot car! Rug baby up during winter.
If you have a habit of taking the dummy out and into the mouth often, buy some Glycerine from the chemist. Put a drop on your finger and gently rub on the lips once a month or more often if need be. A little inside the mouth will help too.
Don’t wear clothes that are too tight, make sure they look comfortable on. Again this is to avoid friction on the silicone.
Contrary to popular belief, silicone babies do not need to be bathed. BUT…if for some reason they get too dirty, bath them in warm water and use baby shampoo. Pat dry, do not rub, with a soft cloth that doesn’t leave lint on the baby. Babies coming from me are sealed, which means bath are almost non necessary.
Once a fortnight, sprinkle some baby powder on the baby and with a large makeup soft brush, gently remove the powder from the baby. You can do this too, if silicone baby becomes too shiny from too much handling.
If your baby has hair, avoid brushing, washing, or combing unless absolutely necessary. Hair is not sealed from the inside and will eventually fall away.
With drink and wet babies, change the diaper/nappy as soon as you feed.
Above all, enjoy your baby and he/she will be with you for many long years to come.
