From my heart to your hands
This page is a soft guide to my sculpted babies and handmade treasures. Each section reflects a different part of my creative journey—from lifelike reborns to one-of-a-kind clay sculptures, and comforting crafts stitched with love.

Art Is Art

Born, Not Made: The Artist’s Heart
What makes an artist talented? Is it a university degree in sculpting or painting? In my humble opinion, artists of all kinds are born—not made. I’ve witnessed breathtaking works from “self-taught” artists. I use inverted commas because every artist learns from someone—be it a professor or a fellow creator.
Art is a passion born in your heart, developed in your mind, and expressed through your hands. Without that passion, no amount of education or accolades will make you an artist. The true artist craves growth, seeks knowledge, and follows every road that leads to mastery.
Learning Curves and Criticism
Mistakes become learning curves. Frustration is fleeting. The artist watches tutorials, buys DVDs, joins communities, and absorbs wisdom wherever it’s shared. They endure cruel comments—often from those who’ve never tried the art themselves. But they don’t give up. They reflect, refine, and rise.
I host two learning groups on Facebook:
One for the art of reborning dolls
One for the art of sculpting babies and silicone doll making.
The Art of Reborning
When I began, doll kits were rare. We reborned Berenguer play dolls—removing factory paint, sanding grooves, and rooting hair into hard vinyl. It was labor-intensive, but it taught us resilience and appreciation for the beautiful kits available today.
Our goal then—and now—is realism. Not every baby is “pretty.” Real babies have blemishes, milk spots, capillaries, scratches, and tiny pimples. Study reference photos. Observe the blue tint of thinning skin, the red flex points, and every nuance that makes a baby real.
The Art of Sculpting Silicone Dolls
Sculpting and creating silicone dolls is a different journey. There are ready-made kits, normally referred to as blanks. Occasionally, blank kits are sold by sculpting artists, requiring painting and matting, and sealing—an art in itself. Silicone is temperamental, sensitive, and expensive. It demands patience, research, and dedication.
Art for the Soul
Art should soothe your soul and bring joy. It doesn’t matter what others think of your masterpiece. If someone criticizes your work, smile and ask what they’ve created that surpasses yours. Never let rudeness push you into quitting. Keep going. They’ll never understand the world you’ve built.
