The Life of Cece

Over the years, I have been lucky to receive updates from families who have welcomed my puppies into their homes.
Some stories stay with you… and some are shared in a way that allows you to witness a life as it unfolds.
Cece’s story is one I felt deserved its own place. Not just because she was beautiful, but because her life continued to unfold in a way that was shared with me over the years. Through her family’s love and kindness, I was able to witness her journey long after she left my home — and that is something truly special
Cece was never “just a dog”… she was their first child in every sense of the word.
Before the children came, there was Cece.
She was part of everything — their daily life, their quiet moments, their joy.
She travelled with them, posed for photos, and had a personality that simply couldn’t be ignored. She had a way of making people smile without even trying.
When the children came along, nothing changed… she simply welcomed them into her world.
She remained where she had always been — right in the heart of the family.
Cece slept with them every night, tucked safely in their bed, where she remained for all of her days.
She lived a full and deeply loved life, passing peacefully at the age of 16… in the very place she had always belonged.
Some dogs leave paw prints…
Cece left a piece of her heart behind.

And then along came their real children but Cece never stopped being their first.
I want to thank Tata and Ed for being the perfect Pomparents and allowing me as her breeder, to share in their love of Cece and allowing me to be a part of her life. She may be gone, but will be forever in our hearts.
Cece was originally intended for the show ring and breeding — and she was certainly worthy of both. But after speaking with her family, something simply felt right. At the last moment, I followed my instinct… and I have never once regretted that decision.
